Scheduled reboot of several database machines, scheduled 1 year ago
Our hosting provider has scheduled a reboot of half of our server fleet, including our central load-balancer, primary MySQL database and Elasticsearch cluster for the night (Europe/Berlin time) of Wednesday to Thursday. During a period of 8 hours between midnight and 8 in the morning we expect short interruptions in availability of the user-interface and data ingestion. The total downtime should not be longer than 1-2 hours at maximum, experience from previous reboots suggest a much shorter downtime window of 5 to 15 minutes is likely.
As we have no influence about the exact time the machines are rebooted, we cannot know exactly when this will happen in the 8 hour maintenance timeframe our hosting provider has given us.
